December 2018

It’s hard to believe that it’s December already! During the month of November, Valenti-Held was hammered with budgets and bids for projects that are set to kick off in 2019. Several clients have already asked to sit down with us to discuss our capacity for next year. We are hopeful that by the first part of February, we will know the majority of the projects that we’ll be working on in 2019. Valenti-Held is preparing for another busy year!

November 2018

Happy November! To follow up on the “big” utility project mentioned in the previous newsletter, the project is Serenade and is located on the west side of Ditch Road and runs between 156th & 161st Street in Westfield, IN. The goal with Serenade is to get as much dirt moved this fall as Mother Nature will allow. Topsoil is currently being stripped. Approval on the utilities should be in the next month or two, which will put Valenti-Held starting utilities the first of the year; the hope is to pave as early as possible in the spring of 2019.

Serenade – Westfield, IN
+237,000CY’s of earthwork
+158 Utility days – 7,880’ of sanitary sewer, 4,628’ of sanitary sewer laterals, 11,498’ of storm sewer and 11,122’ of 8-12” water main.

We continue to be amazed at the amount of projects we have coming in to bid – we cannot bid them all, but we will try to snag some projects yet this year to start in the spring of 2019.

October 2018

For the first time in a long time, Valenti-Held Contractor/Developer does not have any newly awarded projects to discuss. As it stands, Valenti-Held currently has a great backlog to finish the year for both earthwork and utilities. The winter utility backlog is looking very good as well. As mentioned in previous months, Valenti-Held has turned its attention to bidding work for winter utilities and 2019 projects. All indications from our main clients is that 2019 will be every bit as busy, if not more than 2018!

September 2018

Valenti-Held Contractor/Developer, Inc. has landed two new projects: Greystone Section 1 (Pulte Homes of Indiana) and Springmill Villas (Platinum Properties). Greystone Section 1 will have dirt flying just as soon as one of the mass crews open up and Springmill Villas currently has dirt being moved.

Greystone Section 1 – Brownsburg, IN – Pulte Homes of Indiana:
+102,675CY’s of earthwork
+92 Utility days – 5,456’ of sanitary sewer, 3,050’ of sanitary sewer laterals, 5,880’ of storm sewer and 4,877’ of water main.

Springmill Villas – Westfield, IN – Platinum Properties:
+95,042CY’s of earthwork
+71 Utility days – 4,428’ of sanitary sewer, 2,356’ of sanitary sewer laterals, 4,463’ of storm sewer and 3,454’ of water main.

Valenti-Held is officially done taking any work that has hopes for asphalt placement in 2018. We’re currently bidding work that will generate winter utilities and putting together budgets for projects that would start in 2019.

August 2018

Valenti-Held Contractor/Developer has landed two new projects since last month: Hawthorne Ridge Section 1 (Pulte Homes of Indiana) and 777 Bates (Onyx & East). Hawthorne Ridge Section 1 will have dirt flying the first part of August and 777 Bates will most likely start in September. Valenti-Held is still receiving more bids in than we can bid or construct for the 2018 season so our focus has turned to fall dirt with winter utilities or projects that would start in 2019. As things stand, there are several fall dirt projects that we will have a great opportunity on that will lead to additional winter utility work. Much like the Chicago Cubs pitching staff, we will need to wait and see how it all works out!

July 2018

Since last month, Valenti-Held Contractor/Developer has landed two new projects: Osbourne Trails Section 1 (Platinum Properties) and Enclave at Andover Section 3 (Pulte Homes). Osbourne Trails Section 1 will likely begin the first part of July and Enclave at Andover Section 3 will start shortly thereafter.

Osbourne Trails Section 1 – Westfield, IN – Platinum Properties:
+166,000CY’s of earthwork
+107 Utility days – 3,751’ of sanitary sewer, 6,274’ of storm sewer and 7,481’ of 8-16” water main.

Enclave at Andover Section 3– Westfield, IN – Pulte Homes:
+5,774CY’s of earthwork
+16.3 Utility days – 985’ of sanitary sewer, 195’ of storm sewer and 1,320’ of water main.

Valenti-Held is still receiving bids, and the focus has turned to fall dirt and winter utility projects and any work that would start in 2019. As things stand, we only have a few spots left for new projects this year. We also should be getting the “official” word on at least 2-5 projects in the month of July.

June 2018

Happy June, everyone! Since last month, Valenti-Held Contractor/Developer, Inc. has landed four new projects: Chatham Hills Section 4 (Henke Development), Hunters Run Section 7 (Pulte Homes), Four Oaks Section 6 (Lennar) and Harmony Town and Flatts (JC Hart). Chatham Hills Section 4 has already started, and the remainder of these new projects should start sometime this month. There is still a ton of things on the horizon to bid, and we will definitely keep busy this month!

May 2018

I hope the weather decides to cooperate soon! Valenti-Held Contractor/Developer has a bunch of work to get done, and we don’t want to fall behind schedule! Some of the projects discussed last month have been delayed slightly due to jurisdictional approval, but all should be up and running within the next 2-4 weeks. Since last month, Valenti has landed three new projects: Beacon Pointe Section 2, Emerald Park Section 1 and The Bakery. These projects should start end of May or first of June, allowing us some time to get the other projects completed.

April 2018

Valenti-Held is going to be super busy this spring! We have the following projects that have or will be beginning in the next few weeks: Westwood Landing Section 2 (Westport Homes), Central Greens Phase II (Holladay Properties), McCord Pointe Off-Site Sanitary (Lennar), McCord Pointe Section 1A & 1B (Lennar), The Parks at Wynne Farms Section 1 (Platinum Properties), Hoosier Village Park (Bedrock Builders) and Webers Main Office.

This year appears to be very, very strong. There are no indications of a slow down, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see things take off even more around June/July. The bid requests are still coming in at an overwhelming rate!

December 2017

It is hard to believe that it’s December already! While it may have been challenging at times, it appears that all projects that were supposed to be paved this year will get paved. During the month of November, Valenti-Held Contractor/Developer was hammered with subdivision projects (10) to bid. The projects that we are bidding currently will be early spring projects, with potential for some off-site winter work. The coming year just might be busier than 2017!
