Sewer Foreman/Crew Leader and Dirt Foreman/Crew Leader:

Sewer Foreman/Crew Leader and Dirt Foreman/Crew Leader will be directing and overseeing the installation of storm, sanitary and water main, and/or mass dirt excavation and finish grading. Knowledge of safe work practices and equipment operation are a must.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Directing a team of 2 to 10 skilled operators and laborers.
  • Leading and scheduling crews, subcontractors and materials.
  • Assist in determining labor, equipment and material needs.
  • Interfacing with other foremen, superintendents, project managers, vendors, owners and inspectors.
  • Maintaining records including time sheets, safety, production, attendance reports, etc.
  • Promoting and enforcing the company safety policies.

Qualifications required include:

  • 5+ years of site work leadership.
  • Experienced in heavy equipment operations.
  • Strong leadership, communication and people skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening/physical

Dozer operator:

The Dozer Operator’s primary duties include mass/finish grading, maintain site drainage, control lifts and coordinate material placement for residential and commercial development. Operators are also expected to assist in other duties around the job site as needed. Valenti-Held strives to utilize the latest equipment and GPS machine control technology, an understanding of machine control is desired but not required as training will be provided.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Grading Mass and finish earthwork
  • Understanding of reading blueprints
  • Conduct safety and maintenance walkarounds
  • Understanding of GPS machine control

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 Years Operating Experience Preferred
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; may be required to work in adverse weather conditions
  • Requires the ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properly
  • Possess a strong work ethic and desire to learn
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening/physical

Excavator Operator Sewer & Earthwork:

Excavator operators for the utility division will mainly work on mainline digging, installing water, storm and sewer. Excavator operators for the Mass earthwork division will be focused on loading haul trucks and maintaining grades throughout residential and commercial projects.

Job Duties:

  • Operating different size excavators as required by the job for the installation of underground storm/water/sewer.
  • Assist the Foreman in the planning and scheduling of the project.
  • Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment.
  • Assist in overseeing a 3-5 man crew when the Foreman is not there.
  • Other duties as required to accomplish a finished project.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to read Blue Prints and Construction Specs
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience
  • Must provide own transportation to and from work

Haul Truck Operator:

Haul Truck operators’ primary duties include hauling material on site in collaboration with the site Foreman and dozer operators for commercial and residential development. Operators are also expected to assist in other duties around the job site as needed. Valenti-Held encourages operators to be promoted within the company making this position a great avenue to learn and develop new skills within the industry.

  • Effectively and safely operate Articulated Haul truck around job site
  • Assist Foreman as needed
  • Conduct safety and maintenance walkarounds
